Time and Again

Regarding life, love, and commitment…

   Time and Again

Twenty one years together
She finds it impossible to imagine
A life without him
It should have been forever

Still she wouldn’t trade even one year
To not feel the pain
She’ll stay here

For now near
To this awful pain
Embracing every last tear

And then she’ll move on but missing their life together
And the not holding him
But he will always be there time and again
Forever

Robert Cried

Of pain and sorrow in the struggle…

   Robert Cried

As Bruce drifted like a phantom through the countryside
He began to draw
More that had become outlaw
One such had come to him but came not to hide

Here his dear old friend the Lady Christian of Carrick
And with her she brought her men that were mounted
More than a dozen her gift

But too, she brought news against which Robert would have wished
‘Twas the tales of his family she recounted
And it made him sick

Now for the first time he heard the fate of Scotland’s pride
How brothers and friends were tortured and killed in the English maw
How his women and beloved were caged with beds of straw
For all of this Robert cried

While My Face Smiles

In pain and sorrow…

   While My Face Smiles

My heart screams with pain while my face smiles
I retreat into hectic routine
But the act only postpones my trials
It is the pain that’s real though perhaps not seen

And life is not normal though to others it may seem
I struggle on tired and numb
Dazed.  I still wish this was but a dream
I couldn’t imagine the emptiness losing that special someone

Why?!  She was so alive, so young
Missing her stops me cold in my tracks
Hiding from the pain why I stay on the run
But my tears reveal the facade’s many cracks

Mama, Come Back…
